The East of England Piano Competition is a brand new piano competition taking place on Sunday 7th April 2019. The venue is the brand new, state of the art music department, at Gresham’s School called ‘The Britten Building’. Situated on the outskirts of Holt in Norfolk, Gresham’s School has All-Steinway status and has a number of beautiful Steinway Grand and Upright pianos available. The main concert hall – Fishmongers Recital Hall – is the venue for the competition, playing on a beautiful Model C Steinway Grand Piano, newly commissioned by Gresham’s to celebrate the opening of the new Hall in 2018.

 

Criteria

The competition is open to Grade 8 equivalent and above, non-professional pianists up to the age of 26. Each pianist will play a free programme of 20-25 minutes showcasing their musical and technical ability.

 

Prizes

1st Prize - £250.00 plus a paid concerto appearance with North Norfolk Sinfonia and a paid recital date at The Belfry Centre for Music & Arts.

2nd Prize - £150.00

3rd Prize - £100.00
